A Few New Features

March 15, 2009

Well, I had a smashing  good time at Opus Fest, meeting people, watching a great costume fashion show, listening to the satiric lyrics of Voltaire, talking about the grotesque to Weird Tales editor Stephen Segal, as well as artist Gil Bruvel and his lovely wife Mary Ann. And I met a host of writers and fans of fantasy fiction. So, I’ll be posting pics and stories soon. I also will be bringing up questions that were posed at the panel sessions, and asking for your lovely thoughts, gentle reader.

In the meantime, you can see that I now have twitter updates on this blog and a link exchange offer. So, please come back often, and if you’re a writer, artist, musician, avid reader or critic, let’s trade links!

Makeover

March 10, 2009

I liked the color palette of my previous blog, but was hard to read the sidebars, methought (font too small). So I switched out to this one. What do we think? Is it better? Should I keep searching for a better scheme or change the header?  I might go in for a hairdo change as well. It’s spring and I’m feeling the urge for something a little less…Sammy Hagar circa 1984 (it’s not that bad in this pic, but others have seen my hair puffed and poofed to high heaven).

How HTML Ruined My Life

February 10, 2009

Ruined might be too strong a word, but I have to say trying to learn HTML code is grrrr. Words escape me there, and how could they not? After spending hours dealing with p’s and b’s in brackets, trying to understand what the hell “tr div” means and if it’s bad to delete (warning, it is), I’ve written all of five lines on my news page and linked one conference. I plan on going into the HTML battlefield once more today. I shall take back my website! I swear it shall be so (she says, after reading too many military fantasy novels).

My New Website!

December 1, 2008

So, here is my first ever writerly website: http://nancyhightower.com/ You can find out all kinds of interesting tidbits about me, my writing, and how I came up with the idea for my first novel.

Go have a look-see and tell me what you think. I’ll soon be taking down the excerpts here just to tidy up the place a bit. A big hug and thanks go to the wondrous Kaite McNally for creating the site.
